A Walk In My Woods

This section is a glimpse into my personal life outside of photography and video production. It’s a place where I share stories from our land, our Airstream travels, and the peace I find in nature.

While summer still lingers, we just returned from an epic 3,000-mile Airstream trip—a 15-day adventure that reminded us how much we love the open road. But stepping back onto our land here in Rhode Island felt like a breath of fresh air. As much as I love traveling, I always appreciate coming home.

Our woods welcomed us with quiet magic. A deer stood at our front door nibbling plants—something that could’ve been frustrating, but we chose to just watch. She seemed completely at peace, and in that moment, so were we.

This weekend, I’m hoping to reopen a trail down to the creek. It’s been on hold while life (and poison ivy) took over, but the path is still calling. The owls are hooting again in the evenings, and frogs and toads have taken over the night air with their chorus. We’ve left the windows open just to fall asleep to the rhythm of it all.

Our garden’s been thriving too. Fresh lettuce, basil, tomatoes, herbs, and jalapeños right from our backyard—there’s nothing like it. The deer have, thankfully, left our veggies alone. And while I can’t say weeding is my favorite chore, it’s a small price to pay for the reward.

Nature reminds me that strong stories grow over time—with intention, care, and a few unexpected turns. That’s true for the visual stories I create for clients, and it’s true out here in the woods. Both bring me a deep sense of purpose.
