A Walk In My WoodsAbout six months ago, we bought 12 acres of beautiful wooded property here in Rhode Island. It’s been officially audited by Land Management Services, and we now have a detailed forest management plan for this healthy and thriving forest. Some days, I spend hours outside just listening—hawks overhead, woodpeckers tapping, and the sounds of abundant wildlife all around. You may remember my email about the tornado that ripped through our land just days after we moved in. Now, we spend our days improving and managing this property. Every walk reveals something new: a creek we’ve come to know, and a stream we’ve yet to find. We uncover treasures left by the previous owners and marvel at nature, like the owl that visited me recently. In this newsletter, I’ll be sharing what I discover and learn about this land over the years—from the different types of trees, to the art projects I plan to create. Some of these will be surprises for those who explore the two existing trails, which we plan to develop even further.
