After weeks of steady rain, the river behind our home is roaring — faster and deeper than I’ve seen. I had a quiet spot in mind for pitching a tent near the water. Let’s just say I’m glad I hadn’t committed to that plan yet. That peaceful riverbank is now fully submerged.

So, the search continues for the right spot — a little metaphor for life and work. Sometimes the vision feels clear until nature (or a client brief) changes the landscape. You adjust, adapt, and keep exploring.

We did make solid progress carving a path from the trailhead to our compost pile. There’s something deeply satisfying about creating a trail where there was none — like building a photo or video project from scratch. You start with intention. You see it through. And in the end, it’s more than a finished path — it’s something you actually use. Daily. And if it keeps your shoes out of poison ivy? Even better.

The garden has also started producing — lettuce, mint, basil, and thyme. There’s nothing quite like stepping outside, harvesting dinner, and knowing you played a part in its growth. And if a rabbit gets to the arugula first? Well, I’m glad they enjoyed it too.

And yes — the dragonflies have returned. Their quiet hover reminds me to pause. Observe. Stay still just long enough to notice the magic.
