CASE STUDY
Adlers Design Center and Hardware
Small Business Retail · Providence, Rhode Island
The Challenge
Adlers Design Center and Hardware is a long-standing, family-run business in Providence, Rhode Island, serving the community for more than 100 years. While the team is known locally for friendly customer service and deep product knowledge, they wanted a better way to share that expertise beyond the showroom.
Their goal was to connect with customers by answering common design and hardware questions through video. Previous video projects had used larger crews, which produced strong results but required significant setup time and disrupted daily store operations. That approach was not sustainable for ongoing content.
Adlers needed a solution that preserved quality while minimizing disruption. They turned to the expertise of a seasoned media professional to explore whether video could be created more efficiently without sacrificing clarity, sound, or professionalism.
The answer was a streamlined approach using short-form video production. By reducing crew size and filming with an iPhone paired with professional audio, we could create polished, informative videos with minimal impact on the store’s workflow. This approach became part of my Short-Form Videos offering.
What We Accomplished
I arrived with a streamlined approach and produced multiple videos during a single session. Each video focused on a specific question or topic, allowing Adlers team members to share their valuable insights naturally and confidently.
Videos were captured in both horizontal and vertical formats. This ensured the content could be used across the website, social platforms, and Instagram Reels without additional production time.
By keeping the setup simple, subjects were able to speak comfortably and authentically. This approach removed distractions and allowed their expertise and personality to come through clearly, creating content that felt approachable rather than overproduced.
The Results
The finished videos were published across Adlers’ website and social channels, where they engaged their existing customer base and positioned the business as a trusted local authority.
The consistent release of helpful, topic-driven video content also had a positive impact on discoverability. By answering real customer questions on video, Adlers Design Center and Hardware strengthened its visibility and credibility in the Providence market.
This project demonstrated that effective video does not require a large crew or complex production. With the right approach, small retail businesses can create professional, informative content that supports both customer engagement and long-term marketing goals
