Steps for a Successful Headshot
Professional headshots and portraits are used across LinkedIn profiles, corporate websites, internal directories, marketing materials, and press. I regularly photograph individuals, leadership teams, and entire departments for consistent, professional use across digital and print platforms.
Headshot projects are often scheduled alongside other corporate photography or video work, both throughout New England and nationally. Images can be framed as tighter, traditional headshots or shown with more context to reflect personality, environment, and brand.
Example of Tighter Headshot Cropping
These examples show how environmental portraits can be cropped tighter when a more formal headshot is required, while still maintaining consistency and quality.
On-Site Headshot Photography
When a company needs headshots for multiple people, I typically create a temporary studio on site. This allows team members to step away for a short session, often around ten minutes, without the disruption of traveling to a studio.
Headshots are commonly photographed in offices, conference rooms, lobbies, hallways, and outdoor spaces. Depending on the environment and goals, sessions may use professional lighting or available light. Some projects require photographing many people efficiently within a limited time frame, and the process is designed to stay organized and respectful of everyone’s schedule.
Environmental headshots
Based in Rhode Island, I regularly travel throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, New England, and nationally to create on-site, studio-quality environmental headshots. Projects range from executive portraits to full-team headshot days, with consistency and ease as the priority.
