Not Just FAQs—Why These Questions Matter in Photo & Video Production

Over the years, I’ve been part of a lot of conversations that start with what clients think are “simple” questions—things like timelines, delivery, or gear. But here’s the truth: every question helps build a better project.

Some questions may seem small or obvious on the surface, but every one of them opens up understanding, sets expectations, and builds trust. The more we talk up front, the more aligned we are throughout the process—and that always leads to a stronger final product.

That’s why I’ve created a new FAQ page—not just as a reference, but as a toolkit for anyone planning a photo or video project, whether they’re working with me or another vendor.

Behind Every Good Project Is a Good Question

Here are a few questions that come up frequently—and why they matter:

✅ Can you deliver photography or video the same day?

  • Yes, and I’ve done it often. But the more important part is knowing when you need it. Having that conversation early shapes how I plan the shoot—whether I bring a digital tech, prep gear for quick transfers, or schedule edit time that same night. Fast turnaround is absolutely possible, but only when it’s built into the workflow.

✅ Do we need a teleprompter?

  • Maybe, maybe not. I offer a professional teleprompter setup for scripted messaging, but I also know when to keep things loose and conversational. The best projects are the ones where the delivery fits the speaker—and the audience. Knowing the options helps us decide what approach will connect most.

✅ Can we hire you just for photography or just for video?

  • Absolutely. Some clients bring me in to handle everything; others already have a team and need just one piece of the puzzle. I’ve even recently produced a photography production with another photographer handling the camera work. My experience in both photography and video allows me to be an effective producer when that’s what’s needed.

  • I’m happy to step into whatever role is most useful—photographer, videographer, producer, or creative partner. I build the team based on your goals, not a pre-set package.

✅ How do you store files, and can we request re-edits later?

  • Yes and yes. I take my digital asset management (DAM) seriously—from thoughtful file naming and local RAID storage to cloud backups. Everything is archived in both my office and the cloud.

  • I don’t guarantee that files will be stored forever, but I do my best to keep everything organized and available. I’ve had many clients come back months—or even years—later needing a new cut or a few additional images, and I’ve been able to deliver. Depending on how far back we’re going, there may be a small archival recovery fee—but I’m always happy to reopen a project and help.

Why These FAQs Matter—Even If You Don’t Hire Me

If you’re in marketing or communications, you already know how important clarity and consistency are. These questions aren’t just about working with me—they’re about setting up your project (with anyone) for success.

Asking the right questions up front can:

  • Prevent missed deadlines and misaligned expectations

  • Help you build trust with your stakeholders

  • Save time, budget, and energy during production

  • Get better results from your vendor partnerships

So whether you’re working with me or someone else, use this list. Make it your own. The better your questions, the stronger your outcomes.
