Video & Photography for social media uses

One of the projects I have been working on the past year is showcasing Rhode Island Small Businesses.

The years of experience I have with telling stories about small businesses have helped this 13 episode series continue through a pandemic. We approach the final product in mind and keep our crew to a minimum of 2-3 people and create the content in about 2-hours. We have a goal to tell their story without being a disruption to their daily business happenings.

In many business stories, we aim to create two videos and an excellent portrait of the business owner. We keep in mind publishing the digital assets on YouTube, Instagram's feed, IGTV (Instagram TV), Facebook, and Linkedin.

Many factors go into the actual creation and the publishing schedule. For example, I prefer to post the videos organically vs. using a scheduling platform for videos because this allows me more control over the published video.

While we are shooting the video in a 16x9 horizontal format, we keep in mind that we will also be publishing in a 9x16 vertical format for IGTV and other platforms. I often enjoy posting vertical videos on Linkedin since it's a different look than the typical video on one's feed.

We always end with me taking an excellent portrait of the business owner. A part of the production I always look forward to. It’s a short, connected and straightforward photo session. This photograph allows us to use it in the video thumbnail, social media posts, and website.
