Environmental Portraits with new Protocols

I have traveled the country for different assignments following a level of Covid protocol. These projects include the typical travel schedule of planes, rental cars, hotels, and restaurants. In another case, I traveled with my Aistream Basecamp 16x, and that was my vehicle, restaurant, and hotel. In many cases, masks were required by the client, which is my preference. 2022 has been an exciting year, and it is full of positive experiences.

We continue to move forward and adjust to the new normal. As we have always done, I recently photographed an executive with Covid protocols in place. The 3 locations were all indoors.

  1. The week before, we did the walkthrough and chose the locations based on visuals, time-efficiency to travel to each location by foot, and areas with minimal foot traffic during our session.

  2. The entire crew wore masks and were vaccinated.

  3. The subject wore his mask until it was time to be photographed.

  4. We chose the locations and scheduled based on a time the area had very little foot traffic during our photo sessions. In this case, it was on a university campus, and we scheduled around the time students were in a class.

It feels good to be active, and productions now include the logistics of a Pandemic. I have always loved the production portion of a project, and the new protocols are part of finding the ideal location.
